Kwang-Chi Hospital


Kwang Chi Hospital was a hospital established by the U.K. Church Missionary Society in Hangzhou, China in 1871. It is one of the earliest hospitals in China. The hospital is still standing today and was renamed to the 2nd Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine.
From 1885 until 1927, the hospital ran a medical school, the C.M.S. Kwang Chi Medical School under Dr. David Duncan Main. A notable alumni was Wu Yun An, Deputy Surgeon General of the Republic of China from 1945 to 1947.
