Kvam, Norway


Kvam is a village in Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, situated along the Gudbrandsdalslågen river. The village lies in Nord-Fron municipality, Innlandet County, Norway. During the military campaign in Norway in 1940, Kvam was the scene of a battle between German and British forces. During the battle, the original Kvam church dating to 1776 was destroyed by the Germans. In 1952, the current Kvam Church was constructed.
Kvam has a British military cemetery and its own railway station. Its population was 832 in 2006.
The village experienced devastating floods in 2011 and 2013.
