Kuryłówka


Kuryłówka is a village in Leżajsk County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in south-eastern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina called Gmina Kuryłówka. It lies on the navigable San River, approximately north-east of Leżajsk and north-east of the regional capital Rzeszów. The village is located in the historical region Galicia.
The village has a population of 1,711. It was first mentioned in 1515, although the settlement in this place already existed in Roman times. In 1978, Aleksandra Gruszczyńska from the District Museum in Rzeszów conducted archaeological research during which the remains of a settlement from the Roman period were discovered. It was the site of anti-communist resistance after World War II. In 2007 it was damaged by a waterspout.
