Career

In 2008, Krish made his debut with Gamyam, starring Allari Naresh, Sharwanand, and Kamalinee Mukherjee. The film was produced by his father Jagarlamudi Saibaba along with his brother-in-law Bibo Srinivas, and his friend Rajeev Reddy who came forward after Krish vainly tried to convince many notable Telugu film producers. The film went on to become a big hit at the box office, and won several awards, including the Best Picture and Best Director awards at the 2009 South Filmfare Award. This blockbuster film was remade in Tamil as Kadalana Summa illa, in Kannada as Savaari and in Bengali as Dui Prithibi . Raj Chakraborty directed the last of these, which was critically and commercially successful and became the highest grosser of 2010, according to a study conducted by FICCI & Deloitte.
Krish's next film, Vedam, released theatrically in June 2010. The film, starring Allu Arjun, Anushka Shetty and Manoj Manchu in the lead roles, was the first multi-starrer film in Telugu after more than a decade. It was well received by both critics and the audience, winning four major awards at the 58th Filmfare Awards South, with Krish receiving his second Filmfare Award for Best Director. Vedam was also the second film to win all the four major awards, after Jeevana Jyothi in 1975 and had a good run at the box office as well.
Following the success of Vedam, Krish was signed on to direct its Tamil remake, titled Vaanam, starring Silambarasan Rajendar, Bharath, and Anushka Shetty, reprising her role, in the main roles. Like its original version, Vaanam too released to critical acclaim. His next film Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum starring Rana Daggubati and Nayantara released in 2012 and was a blockbuster at the box office.
His Hindi debut film was Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Production Gabbar Is Back, released on 20 April 2015. It stars Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Shruti Haasan. His WW II retro war directorial starring Varun Tej named Kanche, released on 22 October, on occasion of Dussera. It received positive reviews from critics and was successful at the box office.
He next directed Nandamuri Balakrishna's 100th movie, Gautami Putra Shaathakarani, which was based on emperor Gautami Putra Shaatakarni and that movie released on 12 January 2017. Krish collaborated with Nandamuri Balakrishna again for the N.T.R biopic which was released in the year 2019 in two parts N.T.R: Kathanayakudu and N.T.R: Mahanayakudu, both the movies got critical acclaim but turned out to be massive disaster at the box- office.
