Korea Open Government License


Korea Open Government License is one of the copyright licenses which allow distributing copyrighted public records. Because in the past there was no standard system about the copyrighted public records, it was a bit complicated that the procedure of getting copyright permission and making inquiry about the licenses. To simplify the complicated procedure and to make the standard system of the copyrighted public records, the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism developed the Korea Open Government License, KOGL.
The license scheme is similar in concept to the Creative Commons licenses.

Category

KOGL has four license category below:

Category 3indication of source + prohibition of alteration- If you use the work, you have to indicate the source or writer of the work.
- you can use the work for profit making purpose.
- you are not allowed to alter the original work and to make second work.
Category 4indication of source + prohibition of profit making purpose and alteration- If you use the work, you have to indicate the source or writer of the work.
- you are not allowed to use the work for profit making purpose.
