Koktobe, Pavlodar Region


Koktobe is a village in May District of Pavlodar Region of Kazakhstan. It is the administrative center of Koktobinsky rural district. KATO code - 555630100.

Geographical position

Koktobe is located 102 km southeast of Pavlodar on the car track Chagan-Families. The train station is on the main road Aksu-Delegen.

Koktobinsky rural district includes the settlements of Koktobe Belogorsky HSP, Branch and Branch-2-3 with a total population of 4315 people.

History

Kөktөbe signifies "Green Hill". Prior to 1992, the village was called Belogorie. The name is given to a high steep bank of the river, where alabaster is mined.
The village was founded in 1932 on the site of the current alabaster factory. The former dairy farm "Belogorsky" was formed in 1961 on the basis of the "Podkhoz Maikainzoloto" plant, part of the grounds of the farm "Kyzylkuraminsky", "Lenin Joly", and the cattle ranch "Goszemelfonda".
During the Soviet period, V.I. Ladigin, of the "Belogorsky" farm, was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor.
