Knoxville, Missouri


Knoxville is an unincorporated community in Ray County, in the U.S. state of Missouri and part of the Kansas City metropolitan area.

History

Knoxville was founded in the 1830s. A large share of the early settlers being natives of Tennessee caused the name of Knoxville, after Knoxville, Tennessee, to be selected. A post office called Knoxville was established in 1838, and remained in operation until 1904.
