Kipling Collegiate Institute


Kipling Collegiate Institute is a public high school in the Etobicoke area of Toronto, Ontario, Canada under the management of the Etobicoke Board of Education since 1960.

History

Kipling Collegiate was constructed in 1959 and opened its doors in September 1960. The school was built in a modernist design by architect Gordon Adamson.
The school merged with Scarlett Heights Entrepreneurial Academy in 2018 and attempts to rename the school failed.

Overview

Kipling CI is well known for its athletes who compete in many arrays of sports. Kipling Wildkats as they are referred to, excel in basketball, cricket, soccer, baseball and volleyball.
Kipling is a member of Peaceful Schools International and has been featured in Maclean's magazine as one of "Canada's Top Ten Extraordinary High Schools", as well as the Toronto Star, as a featured school for its unity and peace initiatives. It is also a certified Gold Level Eco-School. Situated near Toronto Pearson International Airport, the school has a diverse student population, with 54 different nationalities represented.
