Kausland Church

Kausland Church is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Øygarden Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Kausland. It is one of the two churches in the Sund parish which is part of the Vesthordland prosti in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1881 using designs by the architect Conrad Fredrik von der Lippe. The church seats about 385 people.

History

The church was consecrated on 24 August 1881. The steeple on the church dates back to 1674. It originally sat on top of the old Sund Church, which was torn down in 1878 in order to build a new church there and the steeple was saved and moved here during the construction of this church just a few years later.
