Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki


Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki is a Japanese judoka, Judo World Champion, known for his mastery of sacrifice throws and ground techniques.
Kashiwazaki is from Kuji, Iwate. He began judo at the age of a 5th grader. After graduation from Tokai University, he belonged to Ibaraki Prefectural Taga high school and Tokai University.
He won the silver medal of world championships in 1975 and gold medal in 1981.
Kashiwazaki retired in 1982 and became national coach in England, Canada, Germany and elsewhere. As of 2009, he coaches judo at International Budo University in Japan.
He wrote Fighting Judo with Terence Donovan, published in 1986 by Pelham Books.
