Kate Robinson (sculptor)


Kate Robinson is a British sculptor.

Born in Warwickshire, Robinson obtained a 1st class BA in Fine Art at Glasgow School of Art in 1989, completing her Phd at University of Glasgow in 2002. Amongst her awards are the Guardian/Modern Painters prize for Writing on Art in 2004.
Her commissions include statues of Jimmy Johnstone and the founder of Celtic football club, Brother Walfrid at Celtic Park, Glasgow, as well as the 2008 series of etchings in the pavement outside the Ramshorn Theatre in the Merchant City area of Glasgow.
In 2011 her sculpture, Woman Man Sun Moon was unveiled next to the M8 motorway in North Lanarkshire, commissioned by The Co-op group to be placed outside their distribution centre at the site.
