Kashiyatra


Kashiyatra is the annual socio cultural festival of Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi which is organised in the mid of January. It is one of the most prominent college festivals in India. This event encompasses a beautiful blend of literature, music, art, dance and much more.
Situated in the campus of Banaras Hindu University, one of the oldest institutions of India. Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, the founder of BHU was a staunch supporter of the belief that the rich culture of India had to be passed on to the students fraternity through education as today's student are tomorrow's leaders.

History

Kashiyatra is one of the initiatives taken by the students of IIT Varanasi to promote the rich culture and heritage of the country among thousand of students. Kashiyatra had its first edition in the year 1982.

Events

Abhinay

The dramatics event. Kashiyatra provides a stage to all the participants to bring out the hidden actor in them. This very stage has been a stepping stone in the lives of many artists. This stage is the place where the participants try to connect with the audience and put forward their views on various social issues through their acting skills. This event is way powerful than just acting, it's about connecting with the audience and expressing powerful emotions. The subcategories of this events are:
