Jonathan Galkin


Jonathan Galkin is a former child actor who appeared on the Nickelodeon sitcom Hey Dude, where he played Jake Decker, as well as the short-lived preteen show Way Cool.
He was born April 4, 1972 in Providence, Rhode Island and also lived in Shaker Heights, Ohio and Highland Park, Illinois. In February 1990, Galkin moved to Tucson, Arizona where he filmed the Nickelodeon TV Show Hey Dude. When the show ended in 1991, he attended NYU from 1991–1994.
From 1994–2001, he worked as a special events producer, talent buyer and manager at NYC firm Empire Entertainment.
In 2001, Jonathan Galkin Co-Founded DFA Records with James Murphy & Tim Goldsworthy. He continues to head the label, home to the artists LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture, Hot Chip, Hercules & Love Affair, Black Dice, The Juan Maclean, YACHT, Factory Floor, Sinkane, Holy Ghost! and more.
Galkin is married to Sara Galkin and has 3 children, Noah, Ella & Simon.
