of Middlesbrough, and the principal co-consecrators were Bishop
James Cunningham

Hexham and Newcastle
and Bishop
William Wheeler
of Leeds. On
Bishop Brunner's
retirement, McClean automatically succeeded as the Bishop of the
Diocese of Middlesbrough
