Joe Irvin


Joseph David Irvin is the Chief Executive of Living Streets the UK charity that campaigns for pedestrians. He was formerly CEO of the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action.
He was previously a British Labour Party politician who was a political advisor to Gordon Brown during his term as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He has in the past worked as special advisor to Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott, as well as for the Transport and General Workers' Union, BAA and the RSPB.
Irvin was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the 2020 New Year Honours for services to active travel and charities.

Personal life

He is married to Diana Holland, Assistant General Secretary of Unite trade union and Treasurer of the Labour Party.
