Dillard co-wrote the book Growing Up Duggar, published by Howard Books with her sisters Jana, Jessa and Jinger. It was released on March 4, 2014. The book shares an inside look at what being a Duggar child is like as they talk about their parents' faith and perspectives on life.
Certified Professional Midwife (CPM)
On September 15, 2015, Dillard officially became a Certified Professional Midwife after several years of study and professional apprenticeship. However, her mentor Vanessa Giron’s license was rescinded after an error with a patient, and now neither Dillard nor Giron are licensed midwives in the state of Arkansas.
Personal life
On March 31, 2014, Jill announced her courtship with Derick Dillard, a graduate of Oklahoma State University–Stillwater where he was the mascot Pistol Pete. She and her father had travelled to Nepal so that Jill could meet Derick for the first time, and he asked her to start courting while they were together. On June 21, 2014, Jill Duggar married Derick Dillard. He graduated with a degree in accounting and worked as a Walmarttax accountant until June 2015. Derick is currently enrolled at University of Arkansas School of Law. Together the couple have two children: Israel David Dillard born via emergency C-section after over 70 hours of labor and Samuel Scott Dillard born via emergency Ca-section after 40 hours of labor. In 2015, the Dillard family relocated to Central America to serve as missionaries with S.O.S. Ministries. Ten months later they returned to the United States.
Sexual abuse
In June 2015 on The Kelly File, Dillard identified herself as one of the girls who her oldest brother Joshua Duggar had molested as a teen. Dillard reported the abuse consisted of inappropriate touching while she was asleep, saying she did not know it had occurred until her brother confessed to her parents, and her parents then told her what had occurred. Dillard stated on The Kelly File that the release of the police reports was a "revictimization", and she expressed concern that the police reports detailing her abuse being made public might discourage other families experiencing abuse from seeking help.
