Jill Asemota


Jill Asemota is a German-Nigerian model, fashion stylist, host, and entrepreneur.

Life life

Jill Asemota was born in Heidelberg, to a Nigerian father and a German mother. She studied at the International school in Heidelberg. She was brought up bi-lingual, speaking both German and English as her mother tongues. Jill studied media and communication science at the University of Stuttgart. In 2012 she also gained a diploma in TV journalism at the in Unterföhring.

Career

Jill Asemota started her career as a model in 2003. At the age of 18, she worked in New York and Cape Town. When she came back to Germany in 2006, she started to study at the University. Meanwhile, studying, she decided to set up her own fashion business. At the age of 23, she founded the fashion label Chaya. Jill Asemota presented Chaya with an own runway show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin in 2010. Next to running her label, she also worked as a video contributor for the fashion magazines Instyle and Elle.
Jill Asemota was asked to be the personal style consultant of renowned German football players from the Bundesliga and National Team.
In this context, in February 2014, she founded the , a sport-fashion online platform that mainly features the style of athletes. As a model and blogger Jill Asemota cooperated with brands such as Adidas, Nike, Hugo Boss, Salvatore Ferragamo, Beats by Dre, and Superga.
She also worked with German media houses such as the TV-Station Sky, for which she designed limited fashion pieces and took part in the Sky Champions League TV show.
In 2014 she launched her personal fashion blog, run under her own name, in which she gives fashion tips and writes about her travels and her business experience.

Chaya

Chaya is a fashion label founded by Jill Asemota in 2009.
Chaya initially started as a high end fashion line for women, but then, in 2011, was transformed into a Shirt Label for men and women. The T-shirts became very successful within a short amount of time, because a lot of German celebrities started to wear Chaya. Among them, German music artists like Kool Savas, Xavier Naidoo and Cro and athletes like Bastian Schweinsteiger, Andre Schürrle, Kevin Trapp, Dirk Nowitzki and Felix Sturm.
