Jeremy Peter Allen
Jeremy Peter Allen is a Canadian film director and screenwriter. He grew up in Quebec City, in the Province of Quebec. He studied film production at Concordia University in Montreal, then returned to Quebec City where he worked for many years with the Spirafilm film cooperative.
He has directed a number of short films including L'est, adapted from Canadian author Nancy Lee's short story East, and Requiem contre un plafond, adapted from the short story of the same name by French author Tonino Benacquista.
Allen's first feature film, Manners of Dying, is adapted from the story by Canadian author Yann Martel. It stars Quebec actors Roy Dupuis and Serge Houde.
Allen was first assistant director on Robert Lepage's 2003 film, Far Side of the Moon . In 2009, Lepage asked Allen to direct a short biopic being produced by the National Film Board of Canada on the occasion the renowned stage director receiving the Governor General's Award.
In 2009, Allen directed a ten-part mystery television series, Chabotte et fille, for Tele-Québec.
