Jeff Riseley


Jeffrey Riseley is an Australian middle-distance runner. Riseley competed in the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics.

Career

Riseley was seven when he began to participate in athletics. His family encouraged him as it would enable him to meet other children after the family had moved house.
Riseley's first major competition was the 2007 World Championships in Athletics, competing in the Men's 800 metres. Riseley performed quite poorly achieving 40th place and a time of 1:48.33. In 2007 he also competed at the Summer Universiade competition.
In 2008 Riseley competed in his first Olympics held in Beijing, China. He only competed in the 1500 metres event, coming 44th with a time of 3:53.95. This was Riseley's only major competition in 2008.
He won the 2009 Australian title, his first national title, in Brisbane.
