Jan Peter Toennies


Professor Jan Peter Toennies is an American scientist and former director of the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania of German immigrant parents. He is the grandson of sociologist Ferdinand Tönnies.
