Jack Simpson (footballer)


Jack Benjamin Simpson is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for club AFC Bournemouth.

Club career

Simpson joined AFC Bournemouth at the age of twelve and signed his first professional contract in April 2015. Following this, Simpson enjoyed a brief loan spell at non-league side AFC Totton during the early stages of the 2015–16 campaign before returning to the Cherries to appear as a substitute in their FA Cup fourth round tie against Portsmouth.
Almost two years on after first appearing in a Bournemouth matchday squad, Simpson finally made his first-team debut in their EFL Cup tie against Middlesbrough, scoring the opener in the 3–1 victory. Following his impressive debut, Simpson went onto feature in Bournemouth's quarter-final tie against Premier League champions, Chelsea, in which he featured for the full 90 minutes in the 2–1 defeat.
