József Horváth (chess player)


József Horváth is a Hungarian Grandmaster , Hungarian Chess Championship medalist, World Team Chess Championship individual bronze medalist, FIDE International Arbiter, FIDE Senior Trainer.

Biography

József Horváth was one of the best Hungarian chess players in the 1990s. He has competed in the Hungarian Chess Championships finals many times and won bronze medal. In the following years József Horváth achieved many individual chess tournament successes, winning or shared the first places, among others in Budapest, Andorra la Vella, Cannes, Swiss Open Chess Championship, Zalakaros, Velden, Paks, Bischwiller, Helsinki, Chambéry, Zalakaros, Val Thorens, Paris, Verona, Château de Lacroix-Laval, Feffernitz and Aschachu.

In 1984, he was awarded the FIDE International Master title and received the FIDE Grandmaster title six years later. Also he is FIDE International Arbiter and FIDE Senior Trainer.
His brother Csaba Horváth also is chess grandmaster.
