Isidro Sánchez Macip


Isidro Sánchez Macip is a Canadian former soccer midfielder.

Career

Sanchez began his career 2006 in his hometown with Puebla F.C. His first game for the club came in the Primera División de México - Apertura 2007.
Sanchez took over as manager of the Las Vegas Lights FC in the United Soccer League after his father Jose Luis Sanchez Sola stepped down in September 2018. He was informed his services were no longer required in October 2018 when the club decided it required a change in leadership.
On 20 November 2018, Sanchez was named as manager of Tlaxcala F.C. in the Liga Premier de México.. On June 19, 2019 Sánchez was appointed by Puebla as methodology assistant.

International career

Sánchez was a member of Canada's Olympic team pursuing a place at the Beijing games in 2008.

Personal life

Both parents were born in Puebla. Sánchez's father, José Luis Sánchez Solá, was also a footballer, but he never played professionally. Sánchez's mother got her Canadian citizenship after living in Canada for five years, allowing Sánchez to do likewise. He is nicknamed Pidri.
