Indian Institute of Information Technology, Ranchi


Indian Institute of Information Technology, Ranchi, is one of the Indian Institutes of Information Technology, a chain of higher education institutes started by Government of India focused on Information Technology. It is an "Institute of National Importance", declared by an act of parliament.
At present, IIIT Ranchi is operating from its interim campus situated in Ranchi. 67 acres land is allotted for the permanent campus at Kanke, Ranchi. Construction work is started and it will be ready by year 2021.
For the academic year 2019-2020, it is offering Bachelor of Technology courses in Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering with 66 and 65 seats respectively. The institute also offers Ph.D course in CSE and ECE branches.
Admissions to undergraduate programs are done along with the IITs, NITs & IIITs on the basis of the All India Rank in the highly competitive exam. Seats are filled through Joint Seat Allocation Authority, JOSAA.
Its permanent campus will be coming up in Ranchi, Jharkhand.

Students' Council

A good administration and efficient students' council is a part of an able institution. Student' Council represents the opinions, ideas and proposals of the students. It consists of 15 members. In 2019, Prabhat Suman was selected as the President of Students' Council, IIIT Ranchi.
