In the Gloaming is a 1997 American made-for-television drama film based on a story written by Alice Elliott Dark. Directed by Christopher Reeve in his directorial debut, it stars Glenn Close, Bridget Fonda, Whoopi Goldberg and Robert Sean Leonard. The film originally premiered on HBO on April 20, 1997.

Premise

Danny is dying of AIDS and returns home to spend his final months. He shares moments of closeness with his mother that tend to shut out his father and sister.

Cast

The film won four Cable Ace Awards, and was nominated for five Emmy Awards including "Outstanding Director for a Miniseries or Special".
