Igor Butulija


Igor Butulija is a Serbian former handball player and coach.

Career

Born in Belgrade, Butulija started out at Crvena zvezda and remained there until 1993. He would later return to the club on two more occasions. Over the course of his career, Butulija also spent three seasons in Spain with Atlético Madrid, Granollers and Bidasoa. He lastly played for SG Handball West Wien and later served as player-coach. In March 2006, Butulija was replaced as coach by Wilhelm Doskocil.
At international level, Butulija represented FR Yugoslavia in four major tournaments, winning the bronze medal at the 1996 European Men's Handball Championship. He also participated in the 2000 Summer Olympics, as the team would finish in fourth place.
