Iberolacerta cyreni


Iberolacerta cyreni, Cyren's rock lizard, is a species of lizard in the family Lacertidae. The species is endemic to central Spain.

Etymology

The specific name, cyreni, is in honor of Swedish herpetologist :sv:Otto Cyrén|Carl August Otto Cyrén.

Description

I. cyreni measures up to snout-to-vent, including the tail.

Diet

The diet of I. cyreni is composed mainly of invertebrates such as insects or spiders.

Habitat

The natural habitats of I. cyreni are temperate forests, temperate shrubland, temperate grassland, rocky areas, and plantations.

Conservation status

I. cyreni is threatened by habitat loss.

Subspecies

There are two subspecies of I. cyreni which are recognized as being valid, including the nominotypical subspecies.
Nota bene: A trinomial authority in parentheses indicates that the subspecies was originally described in a genus other than Iberolacerta.
