ISS International School


ISS International School in Singapore was founded in 1981. ISS is an International Baccalaureate World School and offers IB curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Campuses

The schools has two campuses:
The campus at Preston Road was a military outpost used by the British Army when Singapore was under British colonial rule, until the withdrawal of British forces in 1971. The school is on the site of the former Alexandra Grammar School which was attended mainly by the children of serving British military personnel serving in Singapore.

Academics

ISS is one of IB Schools in Singapore. The school is authorized to offer the IB Primary Years Program, Middle Years Program, and Diploma Program. ISS is the only school in Singapore and one of the few in the world that uses the IB curriculum as its sole framework and does not mix and match with other curricula.
Every year in the Middle School and High school there is an Activity week, and there are smaller scale field trips throughout the school year at all levels.
ISS is an Apple Macintosh platform school, with full migration of computer labs complete by August 2010, with computer labs and a laptop program. The school uses StudyWiz and Managebac as its e-learning platforms.

Accreditation

ISS is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges since February 2005. It is a member of the East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools since 1996 and a member school of the Council of International Schools. It is also recognized by the Ministry of Education.
The school is preparing for approval for a joint CIS/WASC/IBO Accreditation year in 2012.
