Hugh LeRoy


Hugh LeRoy is a Canadian sculptor and professor emeritus at York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was born in Montreal, Quebec on October 9, 1939. He studied art at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, School of Art and Design under Arthur Lismer and Louis Dudek. Working in the constructionist style, hIs work has been installed in numerous locations across Canada. The Arc & The Chord was located in the Toronto Sculpture Garden for a period of two months. Rainbow Piece, is permanently located outside Scott Library at York University. Four Elements Column is located in René-Lévesque Park in Lachine, Quebec. In 1967 LeRoy was awarded First Prize at the Perspectives 67 competition for sculpture.
