Hronov


Hronov is a town in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic. It has around 6,500 inhabitants. It is located near the Polish border.
The Jiráskův Hronov festival of amateur theatre takes place here every year. The festival is named after the famous Czech writer Alois Jirásek, who was born here.

Geography

Villages Malá Čermná, Rokytník, Velký Dřevíč, Žabokrky and Zbečník are administrative parts of Hronov. In Hronov are sources of water Hronovka and Regnerka.

History

Until 1918, the Hronow - Hronov town was part of the Austrian monarchy, in the Nachod district, one of the 94 Bezirkshauptmannschaften in Bohemia.
A post office was opened in 1865.
