Holt Church

Holt Church is a parish church in Tvedestrand municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located just south of the village of Fiane. It is the church for the Holt parish, which is part of the Aust-Nedenes prosti in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, stone church was built around the year 1100. The church seats about 430 people. It was originally built in a "long church" style, but later in 1753 the church was renovated and expanded and in a cruciform style.
Holt Church served as an election church in 1814. Together with about 300 churches across Norway, it was a venue for elections to the 1814 Norwegian Constituent Assembly. These were Norway's first national elections.
