Hologram (band)

Hologram are an English progressive rock band formed by musicians Dan Hotten and Matt Wilson in 2011. The band began as a three-piece, with Hotten, Wilson and Morrison, before bassist Matt Branigan joined in 2012. Hologram released their debut EP The Void in 2014. Some of the bands they have supported live include Zechs Marquise, Physics House Band, Moonlit Sailor and Empty Yard Experiment.

History

Hologram was formed in the summer of 2011 by multi-instrumentalists Dan Hotten and Matt Wilson. Drummer Charlie Morrison joined the band soon after, having been involved in Wilson's previous band Metanoia. Hologram existed and performed live as a three-piece until early 2012, when bassist Matt Branigan joined.
After two years of frequent live appearances, Hologram entered the studio in early April 2014 to record their debut EP The Void, which was released the following month. Shortly after the release of The Void, Hologram released three music videos, for " The Void", "Perihelion" and "The Shore", respectively. These videos were all directed by Miles Skarin, known for his work with Nick Beggs, The Pineapple Thief, Mysticum and Tim Bowness.
The band are currently on a live hiatus due to Hotten's study commitments in Cleveland, Ohio. Despite this ongoing hiatus, the band released a new single "Play God" in January 2016. Hologram plan to record new material upon Hotten's return to the UK in the summer of 2016.
