Holger Nurmela


Holger Nurmela "Hogge" was a Swedish ice hockey left winger. Between 1938 and 1956 he played 112 international games and scored 84 goals. He competed at the 1948, 1952 and 1956 Olympics and won a bronze medal in 1952, finishing fourth in 1948 and 1956. He also won a gold, a silver and a bronze medal at the world championships.
Nurmela won three Swedish titles with Hammarby IF and was the best Swedish scorer in 1949 and 1950. After retiring from competitions he worked as a coach with Hammarby IF.
