Hindustan College of Science and Technology


Hindustan College of Science and Technology, HCST, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, India, offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Most of the programs are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation. The college is the first venture of Sharda Educational Trust, which was formed in 1995. The trust is a conglomerate of 14 colleges. It is collectively known as Sharda Group of Institutions.

Location and campus

Hindustan College of Science and Technology is situated at the stone on the Agra-Delhi Highway. The college is housed in its own building complex, with 100,000 square metres of covered area, on a plot of. The college is amongst the first self-financed colleges in Uttar Pradesh, and the largest college under the Uttar Pradesh Technical University.

Courses

The institute is affiliated to the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. The institute was affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow until it was bifurcated and the college came under the control of the present university.
Before the formation of UPTU, the institute was affiliated to Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Agra for the award of B.Tech. degrees. Some courses in the college are still affiliated to Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University.

Library

The Central Library of HCST opened in 1996. Today it serves the needs of 4500 students and 325 faculty and staff members. The library has CD-ROM, online database, journals, audio and video cassettes, dissertations and project reports.
The collection of the Central Library has grown up to more than 97,000 books and more than 1,000 bound journals/periodicals, mainly in the field of science and technology. It accesses networked information through DELNET, INTERNET, and OPAC.
