Higashi-Okayama Station is a railway station in Okayama, Okayama Prefecture, Japan, operated by West Japan Railway Company.

Lines

Higashi-Okayama Station is served by the Sanyo Main Line and the Akō Line, and lies 136.1 km from the starting of the Sanyo Main Line at Kōbe Station.

The station has two side platforms and one island platform, serving a total of four tracks.

History

The station opened on 18 March 1891, initially named Nagaoka Station. It was renamed Saidaiji Station on 1 January 1906, becoming Higashi-Okayama from 20 March 1961.
With the privatization of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, the station came under the control of JR West.
