Henry Capell (MP for Hertfordshire)


Henry Capell, of Little Hadham, Hertfordshire and Rayne, Essex, was an English politician.
He was the eldest son of Sir Edward Capell of Aspenden Hall, Hertfordshire, who he succeeded in 1577.
He was a Justice of the Peace for Essex from 1575 and for Hertfordshire from 1577. He was appointed High Sheriff of Essex for 1579–80 and for Hertfordshire for 1585–86.
He was a Member of the Parliament of England for Hertfordshire in 1563.
He died in 1588. He had married twice; firstly Katherine, the daughter of Thomas Manners, 1st Earl of Rutland, with whom he had 7 sons and 4 daughters and secondly Mary, the daughter of Sir Anthony Browne and widow of Lord John Grey of Pirgo, Essex.
