Heinävesi

Heinävesi is a municipality of Finland.
It is located in the Southern Savonia region. The municipality has a population of and covers an area of of which is water. The population density is. Neighbouring municipalities are Savonlinna, Varkaus, Leppävirta, Tuusniemi, Outokumpu and Liperi. The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
The, until late 1990s, only Nordic Orthodox monasteries New Valamo Monastery and the Lintula Holy Trinity Convent are located in Heinävesi.
