He Xiangjian


He Xiangjian is the co-founder of Midea, one of China's largest appliance makers. With a net worth of $9.3 billion in January 2015, he was the ninth richest person in China, and 136th richest in the world, according to Forbes. He previously ranked #6 for Forbes list of 2010 Chinese billionaires and #9 in the Forbes list of Chinese billionaires of 2011.

Personal life

In June 2020, criminals attempted to kidnap He, breaking in to his Foshan villa. His son, He Jianfeng managed to escape and notified the police who rescued He, five suspects were arrested by local police.
He is married with three children and lives in Foshan in Junlan International Golf Life Village, a villa neighbourhood developed by Midea Real Estate Group. His residence has a view on the Midea headquarters.
