Halámky

Halámky is a village in the Jindřichův Hradec District of the Czech Republic. The village is situated on the east bank of the river Lužnice near a heavily used road.

History

The first written mention of the village dates from 1770. Villagers worked in the woods, which were owned by a Hungarian Count, while others worked on making baskets. In 1870, travel to the town was still difficult due to a large river and swamps; it was many years before a bridge over the river was built.
