Great Lakes College


Great Lakes College is a multi-campus government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located in the dual-town of Forster/, in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, Australia.
Established initially in 1978 as Forster High School, in 2003 through division of Forster High School, the Great Lakes College was formed. The combined campuses enrolled approximately 1,550 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom eleven percent identified as Indigenous Australians and two percent were from a language background other than English. The Senior Campus, located in Tuncurry, is a senior school that caters for students in Year 11 and Year 12 only. the Senior Campus enrolled approximately 410 students. Also located on the same site in Tuncurry is one of the two junior high schools that, in 2018, enrolled approximately 540 students in Year 7 to Year 10. The other junior high school is located in Forster that, in 2018, enrolled approximately 600 students, also in Year 7 to Year 10.
The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education; and prepares students for the NSW Higher School Certificate and post school destinations. The College Principal is Graeme Jennings.
