The golden-spotted tree monitor is a species of monitor lizard endemic to Waigeo Island in Indonesia.

Etymology

The specific name, boehmei, is in honor of German herpetologist :de:Wolfgang Böhme |Wolfgang Böhme.

Environment

V. boehmei is native to the forests of Waigeo, Indonesia.

Behavior

Golden-spotted tree monitors have prehensile tails, and they spend most of their lives in trees.
