Gmina Kłecko


Gmina Kłecko is an urban-rural gmina in Gniezno County, Greater Poland Voivodeship, in west-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Kłecko, which lies approximately north-west of Gniezno and north-east of the regional capital Poznań.
The gmina covers an area of, and as of 2006 its total population is 7,569.

Massacre during Second World War

During the German Invasion of Poland in 1939, German soldiers mass murdered 23 Poles in the area.. The victims were either shot, beaten to death with rifles and stabbed to death by bayonets by German soldiers. They were later buried in a mass grave.
