Gmina Janów, Podlaskie Voivodeship


Gmina Janów is a rural gmina in Sokółka County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland. Its seat is the village of Janów, which lies approximately west of Sokółka and north of the regional capital Białystok.
The gmina covers an area of, and as of 2006 its total population is 4,427.
The gmina contains part of the protected area called Knyszyń Forest Landscape Park.

History

Since 13th age to 1795 Gmina Janów was part of Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
