The school uses data science to analyse students' learning patterns to enable teachers to create more effective study methods. Instead of physical examination scripts, examinations are conducted digitally via the Integrated Digital Examinations & Assessment System, where questions are delivered on tablets. Written answers will be digitised using high-speed scanners and examiners can in turn securely view the answers online.

The school is known to have the best cricket team amongst the various other International Schools in Singapore. They have clinched the GIIS GLOBAL T-20 CUP, a record 4 times out of 5 tournaments held, ending runners up in the last tournament conducted.
Many of the students of GIIS Smart Campus have represented the Singapore National Cricket Team at various Age Groups.

Campuses

There are 22 GIIS campuses in seven countries - Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and India. GIIS has opened a new campus in Singapore called the "School of the Future" SMART Campus at Punggol, Singapore.

SMART Campus

The 33,000 sqm, seven-storey SMART campus is located in Punggol, Singapore, with more than 130 classrooms. It is jointly designed by architects from the US, Australia, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore, along with a team of 90 teachers who gave suggestions on the infrastructure design of the school.
The SMART Campus was officially inaugurated on 13 February 2019 by Mr Ng Chee Meng, Minister in Prime Minister’s Office and Member of Parliament Pasir Ris – Punggol GRC.
Students learn via the Small Learning communities concept, which is a 'school within a school' Finnish philosophy. Facilities at the SMART campus include interactive TV display panels, tablets, projectors and 'virtual classroom' e-learning technology. Other features include 40GB fibre broadband connectivity and the use of facial recognition for attendance-taking. Smart TV panels are used as digital whiteboards or for the live transmission of fields trips and virtual interaction with students from other schools. In-class cameras will record lectures, which can be re-accessed by students during revision.
Digital lockers on campus are tagged to student cards and a facial recognition device automatically unlocks classroom doors after school hours. The school's digital traffic management system allows parents to track when school buses are leaving the school with their kids, and whether the buses will be held up by traffic congestion. The school's smart restrooms are also equipped with ammonia sensors to ensure an odour-free environment.
The school features 47 skills-based studios such as radio and television studios and innovation labs. The three research centres in the school focus on entrepreneurship and innovation, robotics and artificial intelligence, and design technology.
The school deploys NBA-level technology to help students improve their sports performance. Students will wear trackers and tags during games which capture player movements through tracking devices like sensors and cameras. These devices will help accurately map the sports field, individual performance and gather game statistics during intra-school and inter-school competitions. Game data is captured by the Sports Performance Enhancing Data Analytics System and further analysed to enhance the performances of individual players and the team.
In 2019, the IGCSE results 14 of the students achieving an A* in all of their subjects.
Mr. Ghonge is also the current president of the school's official 2019-2020
