Glenn Gruenhagen


Glenn H. Gruenhagen is a Minnesota politician and member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, he represents District 18B, which includes portions of McLeod and Sibley counties in the south central part of the state. He is also a small business owner and insurance agent, owning Gruenhagen Insurance and Financial Services in Glencoe.

Early life, education, and career

Gruenhagen was raised on a dairy farm near Glencoe. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He earned his Chartered Financial Consultant designation and his Charted Life Underwriter designation from The American College, a training institution for financial planners and insurance agents. Prior to running for the House, he served on the Glencoe-Silver Lake School Board for 16 years.

Minnesota House of Representatives

Gruenhagen was first elected to the House in 2010, opting to run after incumbent Rep. Laura Brod decided not to seek re-election. He was re-elected in 2012, 2014, 2016 and again in 2018.

Personal life

Gruenhagen and his wife live in rural Glencoe. They have three daughters. He is a member of the American Legion and the Rotary Club.
