Glenfield North


Glenfield North is a suburb of the North Shore of the Auckland metropolitan area in northern New Zealand. The Auckland Northern Motorway passes to the east of the suburb, and Wairau Road separates it from Central Glenfield to the south. The Wairau Park Shopping Complex runs along Link Drive to the south-east.

Demographics

Glenfield North had a population of 3,333 at the 2018 New Zealand census, an increase of 282 people since the 2013 census, and an increase of 441 people since the 2006 census. There were 1,029 households. There were 1,689 males and 1,644 females, giving a sex ratio of 1.03 males per female. The median age was 32.7 years, with 603 people aged under 15 years, 864 aged 15 to 29, 1,560 aged 30 to 64, and 306 aged 65 or older.
Ethnicities were 38.5% European/Pākehā, 6.2% Māori, 4.5% Pacific peoples, 54.3% Asian, and 4.9% other ethnicities.
The proportion of people born overseas was 58.2%, compared with 27.1% nationally.
Although some people objected to giving their religion, 42.9% had no religion, 38.3% were Christian, and 13.3% had other religions.
Of those at least 15 years old, 891 people had a bachelor or higher degree, and 300 people had no formal qualifications. The median income was $34,100. The employment status of those at least 15 was that 1,491 people were employed full-time, 372 were part-time, and 81 were unemployed.
