Gleb Kolyadin


Gleb Kolyadin - Russian pianist, composer, arranger, works in the styles of academic music, progressive rock, neoclassic, fusion. Solo artist and a member of the prog duo iamthemorning.

Biography

Was born on July 11, 1989 in Leningrad. In 2015 he graduated from the Saint Petersburg Conservatory on a class of piano.
Since 2010 he has been a composer and pianist of the prog duo iamthemorning, that was the winner of the Progressive Music Award of the Prog magazine in the category "Best Album of the Year" in 2016.
From 2011 has been active in concert activities in Russia and Europe, collaborating with such musicians as Árstíðir, Gazpacho, Balmorhea, Djivan Gasparyan, Riverside.
Since 2013 has been a member of a tango ensemble Orquesta Primavera. In April 2016 the ensemble also organized the first in Russia regular milonga event with live music - "".
Since 2015 has been composing music for theatrical performances, including for the Alexandrinsky Theatre, Saint Petersburg Comedy Theatre, Russian State Academic Drama Theatre n.a. Fyodor Volkov, as well as the projection show Así es Michoacán.
Takes an active part in concerts of modern music, performing many compositions for the first time in Russia, including Textures by Paul Lansky, 2×5 by Steve Reich, Tubular Bells II by Mike Oldfield and others.
In 2018 released the first solo album Gleb Kolyadin on the British label Kscope. A number of prominent prog musicians participated in the recording: drummer Gavin Harrison, musicians of Steven Wilson's solo band, bass player Nick Beggs, saxophonist Theo Travis, keyboardist Jordan Rudess, vocalists Steve Hogarth and Mick Moss. The album got 15th place in the Top 50 rating of the Prog magazine and was shortlisted in the Progressive Music Awards in two nominations – Album of the Year and International Band/Artist of the Year.
As part of the project Eidolon records music for an exhibition of the works by the artist Arseny Blinov, held at the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater. Participates in the recordings of the band The Grand Astoria and the works of Dmitry Maksimachev.
In 2018 took a guest part in the track Prayers of the Dead together with the band Bi-2 and Boris Grebenshchikov.
In the summer of 2019 took part as a composer in the project of Diana Vishneva, presenting music for the Context Project.
Winner of the Prog magazine's 2019 readers' poll as the best keyboardists of the year.
