George Jackson (cricketer)


George Jackson was a noted English cricketer of the mid-18th century who played for the famous Addington Cricket Club and for Surrey. Known to have been a good batsman, he also featured in single wicket matches and for All-England.
Jackson is first recorded on 2 June 1744 when he played for Slindon against London Cricket Club in the famous match from which the earliest known scorecard has survived.
Jackson's name occurs in numerous teamsheets until the 1752 season when his last known appearance was for Addington against a Westminster XI.
