Garib Das


' was a spiritual leader and called Acharaya, spiritual reformer and founder of the Garibdasi panth. He was born in 1717 to a family of Dhankhar Jats , and he has written almost 24000 words of holy book which is called Garibdassi Granth which is followed by so many Garbidassi and Kabir panthies. His or red' consists of some 7,000 verses of the poet Kabir followed by 17,000 of his own. The granth has so many words from different languages like Arabic, Gujraati and other language spoken at that time in different regions up to Afghanistan and across the Himalayan valleys. He left this earth in 1778, and over his remains a mausoleum was erected.
The holy book contains vast knowledge of different forms of Bhakti and Sadhna. Acharaya explained different ways to reach the ultimate goal of human soul which is also discussed in Vedanta. Till the present age of Kali there appeared so many holy books preaching different ways to meet Gods like Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna, Rama. The holy book of Acharaya Garib Dass describes the conclusion from almost all books which are presently part of Indian spiritual teaching.
The holy book gives practical knowledge to reach the ultimate goal.
Garibdasis held Kabir and Rama identical -
Ram men kabir men kuchh antar nahin''. The Garibdasis are found in Punjab and Haryana. There are branch institutions in a number of villages in Rohtak district. These include the Bhuriwale Sampradaya.
