Gabriel Iancu
Gabriel Cristian Iancu is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a forward or an attacking midfielder for Viitorul Constanța.
Iancu began his senior career with Viitorul Constanța in 2011, and at age 18 returned to FC Steaua București, where he was previously a junior. He won six trophies with the latter team, but has since had multiple brief spells since leaving the capital in 2015, initially on loan at Turkish side Karabükspor and one year later as a free agent.
Iancu represented Romania at several youth levels, including the under-21 side.Career
Early years / Viitorul
In March 2012, he and his Viitorul Constanța teammate Bogdan Țîru were on trial at Ajax, and he was also linked with a move to Galatasaray.In December 2012, Iancu signed a five-year contract with boyhood club FC Steaua București, which acquired 70% of the player's economic rights for an undisclosed fee. His contract included a €25 million buyout clause.
On 30 July 2013, Iancu scored the sole two goals in the away victory against Georgian side Dinamo Tbilisi, to facilitate Steaua's progression to the UEFA Champions League play-off round.In September 2017, Iancu joined Polish Ekstraklasa club Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza on a two-year deal. Two weeks later, he made his league debut by coming on as a substitute and scoring the winning goal in a 2–1 victory against Lechia Gdańsk.Career statistics
